FACTOID: Did you know that the world's oldest manufacturing machinery still in use is to be found in Kendal? Snuff makers Samuel Gawith and Company uses plant made in 1750, bought second hand in Glasgow in 1792 by Kendal resident Thomas Harrison and shipped to South Lakeland on packhorses.
30th Anniversary gift to owner Jim Davis

Today New Balance is celebrating 30 years of UK manufacturing. It’s something we are extremely proud of and without the vision of our owner Jim Davis, New Balance wouldn’t be the company that it is today. So before the cutters are put away and the champagne is opened we would like to share with you the only gift that a shoe factory could give back to its owner – personalised one of a kind 576’s to celebrate the milestone.
