Our Town

We moved to Flimby in 1982 and now employ over 210 people from the surrounding areas of Maryport, Workington, Cockermouth and the other towns and villages in and around Englandʼs largest National Park.

We are surrounded by the Lake District that includes Scafell Pike – its highest mountain, Wastwater – its deepest lake and thriving communities like Keswick and Bowness-on- Windermere.

Spend any amount of time here in the West Lakes and we can guarantee your breath will be taken away by the sheer scale and awe of the hills, the wildlife, the Georgian towns, the barren coastline and the friendliness of the local communities.

We have some of the best food and real ale the UK has to offer, with “Taste of Cumbria” food festival in Cockermouth hailed as one of the best festivals in the UK. Along with our world famous “Maryport Blues Festival” during the weekend of the Olympics opening, 2012 looks like a grand year for us and the communities we live in.

If youʼre in the area pop by our Factory Shop at Flimby, halfway between Maryport and Workington for the best discounted New Balance collections. Youʼll be able to see our home surrounded by farmland, woodland and the famous coastline of West Cumbria. Across the Irish Sea youʼll be greeted by the head of Scotland and the Galloway Forest Park.

Flimby and our nearby towns are all reachable by the Cumbrian Coast rail line, off the M6 motorway by car or fly to the nearest airport in Carlisle.
